- Exfoliate you skin. Surface skin cell buildup can be reduced by weekly exfoliation techniques. Make sure to use a gentle exfoliator (as to no over-do it), and only exfoliate once a week.
- Chemical Peels. This is a step above your weekly exfoliation and can range from a light chemical peel to a very aggressive chemical peel that can give you a bit of down time. Here at Renu Laser and Skin Care, our skin experts will help you to decide what chemical peel may be right for you based on your goals.
- Apply Daily Sunscreen. Even in the winter and on cloudy days, you should be applying a daily SPF. This is the best and most proactive way to help keep you skin texture looking young, fresh, smooth, and youthful. The less sun damage you experience, the better you skin texture will be now, and in the long run!
- Topical Vitamin C Products. This is a great ingredient to add to your daily skincare regimen. We can help you to select the product that is right for you throughout our various skincare lines. Vitamin C (creams/serums) are a must for beautiful skin texture!
- Retinol/ Retin A/Tretinoin/Retinoids: Helps with skin cell turn-over and to re-generate new and more youthful skin. In combination with Vitamin C, this is a killer duo that will help your skin texture to look and feel its best. There are numerous different forms and we can help you select which one is right for you. Keep in mind that Retin A has the capability to make your skin sensitive, so not everyone can tolerate a high percentage of the ingredient. We will help get you on the right plan to ensure you will be making a difference for your skin, but won't be over-doing it.
- Regular microneedling. This is great procedure that has helped many people to maintain and achieve beautiful skin texture. There are different strengths (due to depth of needle penetration) of microneedling and some that even incorporate radio frequency. You can select superficial microneedling treatments that will have less downtime – however – if you are “in it to win it” and need serious skin texture help, a more aggressive treatment may be right for you. Please read some of our other blogs about microneedling as this is an amazing technology that can really help many. Again, our aestheticians can help you decide what procedure is right for you and what your skin can tolerate.
- Laser Resurfacing. If you are looking for more serious texture help, you can turn to laser treatments. Ablative lasers take off layers of the epidermis and help to stimulate the production of collagen, helping to re-build the texture of your skin. Laser treatments can leave you with a bit of downtime, so please schedule a free consultation with us to discuss your goals, and what laser procedures may be right for you.
